Inside Qatar Airways’ luxurious Q Suite

Qatar Airways’ Q Suite may be the Middle Eastern airline’s business class option, but lavish touches, unique features and space makes it rival other airlines’ first class category. Here’s our guide on what to expect before you book.

When Qatar Airways unveiled its Q Suite, even business travel critics were impressed.

Stylish, spacious, comfortable and exclusive, the new design ticked many boxes.

Decorated in shades of wine, charcoal and slate, the cabin features elegant rose gold details and adjustable mood lighting to create a soothing ambiance.

Unusually, the cabin features odd-numbered rows with rear-facing seats and even-numbered rows with forward-facing ones.

Space and storage in Qatar Airways’ Q Suite

When you step onboard you’ll soon notice the cabin’s generous storage capacity. Stow items on top of and beneath a wide shelf or inside the deep pocket under your armrest.

The dining tables are also generous, and there’s plenty of foot space too – akin to a car’s front passenger seat.

Those generous dining tables are convenient if you need to work mid flight. Make the most of the high-speed Wi-Fi, which is free for the first hour.

When you need a break, don the complimentary noise-cancelling headphones and browse the 4,000 entertainment options, which you can watch on a 21.5in TV screen. The screen has USB and HDMI ports and NFC technology means your devices can communicate with one another.

Once you’re settled, browse Qatar Airways’ diverse dining menu. You can order when you’re hungry, but you may wish to pre-order to ensure you receive your first choice.

In addition to Arabic, North American and European dishes, you can try gourmet vegan cuisine. Pair your meal with old and new world wine which is poured at your seat.

Meals are served on white tablecloths with stainless steel cutlery – so you may forget you’re dining at 40,000ft.

An amenity kit and gift boxes are available on select routes. Beautifully packaged, they come branded by the French perfumer Diptyque.

Kits are customized for male and female passengers. However, each kit and gift box features lip balm, body lotion scented with orange blossom, face cream made with prickly pear extract and a bespoke Diptyque fragrance.

Sleeping inside a Qatar Airways’ Q Suite

When it comes to bedtime, Qatar Airways really starts to shine. Your 21.5in wide seat transforms into 80in long flat beds, so you may even sleep better than you do at home.

Moveable screens mean the beds can transfigure from private, individual ones to double beds ideal for couples.

What’s more, each bed comes with its own door and an illuminated Do Not Disturb indicator for privacy and uninterrupted sleep.

Quad seats are arranged into four, with two forward and two backward facing seats – ideal for a family or colleagues travelling together. You can separate the layout with movable panels when you need more privacy.
